Admissions Procedures

  1. Admissions Calendar 2017-2018

The reception of Applications for the 2017-2018 school year will be staged as follows:

14th to 18th of November 2016

Early Years, Nursery & Reception applications for Siblings only

1st to 9th of December 2016

Admissions applications for returning Edron students, siblings and children of alumni

9th to 13th of January 2017

General Admissions

Year round admissions on specific dates

For expat families and for Early Years, Nursery & Reception will be open year round as long as there is available space and on specific dates

*Note:  Admission is based on space availability

Returning student- this is a child who studied at The Edron Academy and student who left the school to study outside of Mexico City.

Sibling- a paternal/maternal/adopted brother or sister of a current Edron student.

Expat- is a student who lives outside Mexico (country) with his or her family who wishes to join Edron

The Application process will be structured as follows:

  • Application

The information provided on the application form will be used as a first filter by the Admissions Committee. Therefore the information provided must be complete and detailed in proper time and admissions fee must be covered $800.00MXP. The application must be completed in full, in English and all the necessary supporting documentation must be provided. The  application should include a copy of birth certificate, CURP, 2 photos, if applicable current and last year’s school report cards, recommendation letter –carta de buena conducta, no debt letter- carta de no adeudo, immunization card- cartilla de vacunación (Kinder and  Primary), blood type (Kinder).   •      First Stage of Selection Process-Exam-Visit

Those who successfully progress to the next stage will be invited to visit the school / sit the entrance examination

Children applying for Early Years, Nursery and Reception- Children entering the Early Years must be able to walk with stability. This is because of large number of stairs children must use in order to access the different areas of the Kinder.

Children applying for Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 - Children will spend a day visiting the school prior to any offer of a place. This is so that the school can assess the child’s level of readiness to access our curriculum.

Children applying for Year 5 and 6 - Children will spend a day visiting and will present a CAT 4 Test and a Spanish test during that time prior to any offer of a place. This is so that the school can assess the child’s level of readiness to access our curriculum.

Children applying for Year 7 to Year 11 - All students must have a minimum of 8.0 SEP in their last year of study and 100 standardized score on their CAT exams.

Children applying for IB Admissions in to Year 12 - All students must have a minimum of 5 grade C  IGCSE  passes or above including English, Maths or Spanish or equivalent academic evidence.

Children applying for IB Admissions in to Year 13 - Students may only be admitted to year 13 if they have completed the first year of a recognised IB Diploma course which matches the courses offered at the Edron.

  • Interview

Selected applicants who have reached the academic benchmark will be invited to interview with a senior member of staff; after which a final decision will be made.

  • Admissions decisions

Will be communicated in an appropriate and timely manner.

Admission is based on exam results (where applicable) and space availability. In the event of two or more students obtaining the same result places will be decided by the Admissions Committee.

No student will be accepted  mid academic year unless there are mitigating circumstances such as a move from one country to another or one city to another in Mexico

THE DECISIONS OF THE ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE ARE FINAL.

THE SCHOOL WILL NOT REFUND ANY ADMISSION HANDLING FEE, OR ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION FEE.
