The Personal Social and Health Education team is working throughout the school, in close coordination, to follow a progressive program from Kinder all the way to year 13; following several topics identified as crucial for the formation of the students in all three schools. These are:
1. Emotions ( Managing Emotions, Self-image and self-esteem)
2. Making the right choices (Addictions and Safety)
3. Sex education
4. Administration of resources
6. Respect for others and Bullying
7. Healthy life-style
In Secondary school, PSHE department works in collaboration with the pastoral team to address all important issues, and to help develop the Edron values. We coordinate the PSHE program in line with the British Curriculum and with the regulations and requirements of the Mexican government (SEP). In KS3 (years 7-9) there is one period a week allocated to teaching PSHE. Year 7 is taught in Spanish following Mexican regulations, and year 8 and 9 are taught in English. In year 10, PSHE is part of a core rotation. One period is taught per week during an approximate period of time of 3 months, after which the children will rotate to a different subject. This year, the PSHE program will be taught by Miss Ale May, Miss Claudia Álvarez and Miss Silvia Ramirez.
The PSHE department and the pastoral team also work together to make sure those PSHE topics are discussed and reflected on by every student in the secondary school, from y7 to y13. Finally we work with different institutions to bring specialized workshops for different topics. These are distributed along all secondary years, considering age appropriateness and the specific needs of the children in that particular age group.
