The House system is rooted in British boarding school history. Quintessentially English, House traditions have become a rich vein for children\u00b4s school stories, from Tom Brown\u00b4s School Days (1857), and Enid Blyton\u00b4s Malory Towers (1946-51), to the Harry Potter books in our own time (1997-2007). Having been a boarding housemaster and had my school depicted in children\u00b4s fiction (Scorpia Rising, from the Alex Rider series), fact fused with fiction.<\/p>\n
Our Edron Houses<\/strong><\/p>\n We relaunched our Edron Houses this year, with new names and events, and new student leadership roles. All of our teachers and students are part of a House. The British Crown Jewels inspired the choice of Diamond, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire, the new names for our four Houses.<\/p>\n All pupils belong to a House whose shields symbolize the motifs of our unique school.<\/p>\n
