A place in which our priority is to build a welcoming and loving environment where children feel happy, safe and enjoy their learning experience.

Our objective throughout Kinder is to offer our students the highest quality in early education, ensuring that they make the most of this life stage. We want them to develop a love of learning and have the best foundations for their future.

We equip our students with the attitudes, skills and knowledge that will allow them to progress into the next stage of education as confident and self-motivated learners.

Our active approach to learning ensures that our students have the opportunity to develop their critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaborative skills, along with our Edron values.

Our small class sizes enable us to give each child the individual attention he or she needs. Each class has a qualified and experienced teacher and a qualified and experienced Teaching and Learning Assistant.

Our team of experienced teachers ensure that all children progress through the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and into Key Stage 1 following a developmental process based on the English Curriculum. We make sure that they cover each step, in a progressive manner, in order to achieve their potential.

Our Curriculum

At our School, we are convinced that each child can reach their highest potential if given the right tools. Our early curriculum, based on the standards established by the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and the English National Curriculum, encourages children to learn and practice English from their first years of life. Both the EYFS and the English National Curriculum aim to generate a successful, healthy, and inclusive educational environment, and they focus on meeting the different needs of children so that they generate confidence in themselves and a positive attitude towards learning. These values are fundamental to the Edron, where children can expand skills that will reap benefits for their academic, social, and personal life.

Although our curriculum is based on the English Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and the English National Curriculum, we ensure that our curriculum does reflect the needs, culture and history of our school’s community and of course our unique bi-lingual and bi-cultural nature.

Classrooms

The classrooms are well equipped and they are organised into specific areas for learning. Inside, the classroom displays reflect and celebrate the children’s work. They are bright and colourful and they are designed to encourage reading, observation and discussion. They support the children’s learning and develop their independence, giving them an opportunity to reflect on topics they have already visited or current topics.

Outdoor Learning Experiences

Kinder is very fortunate to have several play areas and for the foundation stage this is a big part of our learning environment. Children’s learning is extended and developed in the outdoors through our seven areas of learning.

Our Programs

Pre Nursery

In Pre Nursery, our aim is to offer a caring and understanding environment where a young child can start to negotiate the transition from home to the outside world. We work in close co-operation with parents to achieve this.
The curriculum is focused on creating an atmosphere of respect, where each child feels valued and accepted. We promote the children's emotional and social skills and provide opportunities to encourage them to develop physically, cognitively and creatively.

Nursery

There are three small mixed ability classes in Nursery. Most of our staff in Nursery are fully bi-lingual. Nursery is part of the Foundation Stage of Education, in which we provide an environment to learn through play, which contains stimulating, challenging, changing, familiar and loved resources and materials. The children are encouraged to engage in different kinds of play, such as construction, role play, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), gross and fine motor activities, problem solving, discovering, communicating and imagining. All children in our setting learn, develop and grow in a stimulating and nurturing environment which complements their loving home environments.

Reception

In Reception, we create a positive and interactive environment for the children to become engaged and happy learners! Our little ones enjoy days full of exciting activities covering each of the different areas of development, all in a carefully prepared environment which facilitates the practise of the English language.

The Reception Year at Kinder is part of the Foundation Stage of Education and follows on from Nursery in providing an environment that enables children to reach their full potential whilst developing at their own pace. The three classes in this year group continue to promote positive attitudes and build upon what the children already know and understand.

Year-1

Year 1 is a crucial year in which the children make rapid progress as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to the Key Stage 1 curriculum. We focus on supporting the children to develop the independence and thinking skills needed to become more resilient and determined learners. Gradually throughout the year, we balance the learning opportunities between active, hands-on, creative sessions with increasingly longer sessions of concentrated tasks. The children are encouraged to use and extend their knowledge and use of spoken English throughout the year. In Year 1, we also begin to develop the children’s handwriting and presentation skills to enable them to have pride in their written work.
